What is Family Sharing?

Family Sharing is a new resource provided by Apple, where up to six people in your family can share purchases from iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store. They purchases can be paid using the same credit card, and the kids' spending approved right from a parent's device.

Once you set up Family Sharing, all eligible songs, albums, movies, TV shows, book and apps bought by family members will be available to everyone in the group. And, of course, any new purchases. The contents automatically appear in the Purchased tab in each family member's iTunes, iBooks or App Store. Just select the family member whose collection you want to see and then download and play whatever you want. Other family members can access your collections the same way. You can hide the items you want so that only you can see specific purchases.

We remind you that there are some items that are not eligible for sharing through this resource:

- Songs added to iTunes Match from outside the iTunes Store;
- In-app purchases, like a PlayKids subscription;
- Items that are no longer available in the iTunes Store;
- Items that are hidden;
- Apps that are not shareable.
